The Mustang bowling teams have had two outings so far as they prepare themselves early in the season to host the district tournament at the end of October.
Last week, the boys defeated Ocoee with a great effort by all of the Mustangs. They dropped a tough match to Apopka as well but showed no fear against the four-time defending State Champions with an MVP performance from Aaron Childers and excellent senior leadership from Shane O'Leary. Earlier today, West Orange won the overall standings but the Mustangs came in ahead of Jones and Dr. Phillips. Sam Locario had the high bowl of the day.
The ladies are still finding their offense in a rebuilding year but battled hard vs. Ocoee and Apopka last week, when the high bowler was Megan O'Leary. Today's high bowler vs. Jones, Dr. Phillips, and West Orange was Faith Bowman. Jordan Jackson, Tamara Sanon, and O'Leary all gave a great effort.
The Mustangs' next match is Wednesday, October 10, at 3:30 pm against Olympia. It will be a short road trip for Wekiva as they head south to Winter Garden Bowl.
